About Us

The Pittsburgh Craft Collective (PCC) is a member-funded organization dedicated to the advancement of independent crafters and the handmade movement. We are committed to providing resources, education and opportunities to crafters of all levels and interests in the Pittsburgh region. With over 60 members, we are constantly evolving and growing.

The PCC was started by Emily Levenson (Subu, Inc), Carrie Nardini (Zippull and I Made It! Market), Cosette Cornelius-Bates (Cosy Knits Literally), Jennie Stephens (Jennie Stephen’s Art), and Kelly Del Greco (Spooky Kelly) in November of 2008 and has continued to grow with each passing year. We welcomed Amy Lumsden (RedRaven Studios) and Amy Garbark (garbella) to the Board in 2009.

The PCC runs regular classes (wordworking, bookbinding, fiber arts – knitting, crocheting, fused glass, jewelry making, letterpress demonstrations) and will be starting to offer round table workshops on topics like starting a business, social media, selling online, and copyright.

We also organize a charity-based craft show called Crafts N’At. This past year (2009) we raised over $1,800 for Gravity + Grace and the Parkinson’s Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. Each year we will be partnering with a local organization to help raise money and awareness.
